Seiko Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship SPB537J1
The Seiko Presage collection has long served as a showcase for the meeting of Japanese artistry and exceptional mechanical watchmaking. The SPB537J1 from the Presage Classic Series elevates this tradition by combining a traditional enamel dial with an elegant tonneau-shaped case, making it the only tonneau-shaped model in the Presage collection.
Its distinctive light-coloured enamel dial is crafted by master artisan Mitsuru Yokosawa and his apprentice Kazunori Uchiyama. Their expertise in enamel craftsmanship creates a brilliant white surface designed to retain its beauty for generations. The manufacturing process is exceptionally demanding, requiring precise adjustments to the enamel composition according to temperature and humidity, resulting in a unique and vibrant finish.
The Roman numerals and sub-dial at six o’clock draw inspiration from Seiko’s first pocket watch, the Timekeeper, introduced in 1895. Classic typography, the pure white enamel dial and blued hands combine to create an elegant contrast and refined aesthetic.
At its heart beats Seiko’s reliable 6R5H mechanical calibre, offering a power reserve of up to 72 hours. A stainless steel case with Super-Hard Coating, a curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a see-through screw-down case back complete the watch.
