Seiko King Seiko SJE103J1
€3,400.00
The King Seiko SJE103J1 combines the collection's signature flat dial with beveled indexes and "Diamond Cut" hands to faithfully reproduce the key design features of the original 1960s. The new, slimmer design follows the original, sharp and angular KSK design with wide lugs and polished joints. The case measures 38.6mm in diameter and 10.7mm thick. The case measures 45.8mm from lug to lug, with a lug gap width of 19mm.
This model is equipped with the high-quality 6L35 caliber, which has a 45-hour power reserve and an accuracy of +15 to -10/day. It is also protected against magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m.
The color and pattern of the watch's plum red 'Garyu-bai' dial is inspired by the birthplace of the first King Seiko in Kameido, Tokyo, which is famous for its plum orchards. The 'Garyu-bai' was the most popular of plum trees, and it got its name from its shape, which resembles a dragon lying on the ground. This tree inspired Ukiyoe artist Utagawa Hiroshige to create one of his last masterpieces: "Plum Orchard at Kameido", which Van Gogh later reproduced in his famous Japonaiserie: Plum Blossom.
The beautiful dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, which together with the 5ATM/50M water resistance makes this watch ideal for everyday use. The whole is completed by a high-quality steel bracelet that continues the model's characteristic design and the variation of polished and matte surfaces. The butterfly clasp adds to the comfort of use.
