The Seiko Astron GPS Solar 5X83 Anniversary Limited Edition SSH186J1 is a commemorative model celebrating the pioneering spirit of the Astron collection. Production is limited to 1,450 individually numbered pieces.

The watch is powered by the solar-driven 5X83 GPS movement, offering automatic time adjustment via GPS signals. Power reserve is approximately six months on a full charge and up to two years in power-saving mode. Without GPS signal, accuracy is around ±15 seconds per month. Features include a chronograph up to 12 hours with 1/20-second precision, world time for 38 cities, dual-time function, date display, perpetual calendar until February 28, 2100, and both automatic and manual time setting. Additional functions include DST, flight mode, automatic hand alignment, power reserve indicator, overcharge prevention and power-saving mode.

Visually, the black dial is accented with gold-coloured details, reflecting the celebratory nature of the model. The bezel features a gold-coloured sapphire ring for added depth, while gold UTC markings at positions 1, 4 and 5 pay tribute to the 145th anniversary. The case is crafted from titanium with Super-Hard-Coating, and the two-piece bezel combines ceramic and sapphire glass. A Super-Clear coated sapphire crystal and LumiBrite on hands and indexes ensure excellent readability. The titanium bracelet includes a ceramic centre link and a triple-fold clasp with push buttons and Smart Adjuster.

The watch measures 44.1 mm in diameter, 14.4 mm in thickness and weighs 123 grams. Water resistance is 100 metres and magnetic resistance is 4,800 A/m.
