In 1985, Citizen introduced the world’s first diver’s watch equipped with an electronic depth meter—the Aqualand. Now, to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Citizen presents a limited edition model that faithfully honors the original while incorporating modern updates.

The watch retains iconic design elements from the 1985 model, including the crown at 4 o’clock, three push buttons, and the signature bulging depth sensor at 9 o’clock. The case features a matte brushed grey finish, accented with gold-tone details that give it a distinguished look worthy of this special edition.

Powered by Caliber C520, the watch offers both analog and digital functions. In addition to timekeeping, calendar, alarm, and chronograph, it also features a dive mode with depth measurement and dive time tracking. An ascent rate alarm provides added safety by warning if the ascent speed exceeds a safe threshold.

The strap is made from BENEBiOL™, a plant-based polyurethane that’s hydrolysis-resistant and more environmentally friendly than traditional materials. Citizen’s use of BENEBiOL reflects its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

To mark the occasion, the case back is engraved with a commemorative logo inspired by the shape of the original depth sensor. This anniversary edition is a true tribute to a diving icon—blending legacy, technology, and purpose in one distinctive timepiece.
